I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Funeral Held For Yonkers Victim Of Police Chase Crash YONKERS, N.Y. – The funeral for Sharon Stinson, 46, who died in a Yonkers police chase, was held on Wednesday, News 12 reported. Stinson worked with children who have special needs at Ferncliff Manor. She was driving home to see her soon when a teenager, who was driving a stolen van, crashed into Stinson. The driver also died. Stamford Firefighter Richard Saunders, 52 STAMFORD, Conn. – Richard Saunders, a 30-year member of the Stamford Fire Department, died Saturday, Nov. 28 from cancer. He was 52. Saunders was born and raised in Stamford. He attended public schools, and became a Stamford firefighter in 1985 when he was only 20. He earned two unit citations, including one in his first year. The first citation came when a man became trapped in the drive shaft under an oil truck that he was trying to repair.
