WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Area football teams throughout Westchester and Putnam counties have been working hard through the summer heat for weeks now, prepping for the upcoming season that gets underway this weekend with games throughout the region.

Squads from Ossining, Croton-Harmon, Lincoln, Hen Hud, Briarcliff and Panas High Schools all took part in a scrimmage Saturday at Ossining High School, as coaching staffs and players worked to iron out the kinks and get set for the 2015 fall season.

Briarcliff opens Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at home vs. Westlake, Croton opens Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Albertus Magnus, Hen Hud is set to start its season Friday at 7 p.m. at Brewster, Lincoln opens the season Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Gorton, Panas kicks off its season Friday at 7 p.m. at home vs. Sleepy, and Greeley rolls into Ossining for a 7 p.m. start Friday night.
