Cause of Mount Pleasant House Fire Still Undetermined

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – A home located at 235 Lake Shore Drive in Mount Pleasant was engulfed in flames and sustained significant damage Thursday night, according to Millwood Fire Chief Greg Santone.

A home restoration agency employee described the home as “most likely beyond saving” on Friday morning.

Millwood, Chappaqua, and Thornwood fire departments provided support for the Pleasantville Fire Department.

“We lent them our air bottles and tanker,” said Santone.

Santone said his department arrived around 7 p.m., shortly after the first call came in, and that they did not leave the scene until midnight. The majority of the flames took about 30 minutes to put down.

With the cause still undetermined, local Westchester County investigators and local fire departments were still investigating the scene Friday. A home restoration agent described the home as “most likely beyond saving” on Friday morning.
