Zika Virus Case Confirmed In Westchester County

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County officials confirmed the Zika virus has made its way to Westchester after a local man traveled outside the United States and returned with the virus, according to Lohud.com.

This is the third confirmed case in the region, the others being a Rockland County woman and a Putnam County resident, both who contracted the virus while traveling, said Lohud.com.

Transmitted mainly by mosquitoes, symptoms include fever, rash, joint pain, red eyes, muscle pain and headaches, said Lohud.com.
