New Castle Police Issue Update On Storm Cleanup

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — The following is a storm cleanup progress update issued by the New Castle Police on Monday evening:

Showers, warming center and cellphone charging stations will be available at the Horace Greeley High School Gym from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Cellphone charging stations have also been established at the Chappaqua Schools Administration Building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and at Chase Bank at 417 King St.

The New Castle Police Department is out patrolling the roads 24 hours a day to keep neighborhood safe and to identify issues that can affect your quality of life.

As of Monday night, Con Ed had seven teams assigned to work in New Castle. One team is a “cut-and-clear” public safety team working with town agencies to open town roads that remain blocked. The remaining six teams are electric service restoration teams assigned to restore electric service to neighborhoods.

Treat all down wires as live wires and stay clear for your safety. Wires that may have been without power may become energized as restoration crews perform their work. It is impossible to tell whether a wire is live by looking at it.

All polling places in New Castle will be open Tuesday. They are all accessible and will have power.
