Hillary Clinton followed suit just days after husband Bill visited Lange’s Little Store & Delicatessen, an institution in the normally quiet hamlet of New Castle.
In a post to its Facebook page, the deli included two images of the Democratic presidential candidate posing with store owner Richard Lange and a smiling gaggle of employees.
The former president and the presidential hopeful live just minutes away and have visited Lange’s frequently since moving to Chappaqua in 1999.
Lange’s posted this message on its Facebook page Wednesday: “Hillary Clinton visits Lange’s today!”
Commendations from the U.S. Secret Service adorn the deli’s walls, and it even rates a mention once in a while by reporters covering Hillary’s campaign for the White House.
According to police, 49-year-old Hengjun Chao of Tuckahoe, last week shot and wounded two men right in front of the King Street business.
The apparent target was local resident Dennis Charney, 65, Chao’s former boss and dean of Mt. Sinai's medical school, police said.
Also injured in the shooting was a passerby, who police identified as a 56-year-old Chappaqua resident.
Both men survived the attack and were taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment, police said.
Daily Voice reported that Chao had been an assistant professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
He was fired by Charney seven years ago over alleged data manipulation for his scientific research, according to federal court documents cited by this newspaper.
Chao denied committing fraud and sued the school and his former co-workers, claiming bias, according to the Daily Voice story. The lawsuit was thrown out by the court.
Chao was nabbed right across the street from Lange’s and a loaded shotgun was found in his car, police told the Daily Voice.
