No plans for the long weekend? There're a number of things going on so there's no need to stay home and be bored. Here are some of the things happening in and around Chappaqua this weekend.
Playland in Rye is gearing up for Halloween early with its Scared by the Sound interactive Halloween event. It begins Friday at 8 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. Saturday the park opens for Scared by the Sound at 7 p.m. and will remain open until 11 pm. On Sunday the event begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. There is a $15 charge for adults and $11 for children 12 and under. All rides will be closed.
Mount Kisco is holding its A Nation of Immigrants Festival Sunday. The event takes place at 104 E. Main St. behind Town Hall and begins at 11 a.m. Celebrate the diverse culture of Northern Westchester with an event showcasing music, dance, visual arts, foods and crafts.
The Mount Kisco Public Library is showing works from local artist Patty Chadwick on its second floor. Chadwick's art topics range from animals to landscape and everything in between.
Take the kids to the United Methodist Church of Mount Kisco on Main Street and pick out a pumpkin. Pumpkin patch hours are Monday through Sunday, noon to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
