WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A&P is seeking damages from two would-be buyers of former A&P supermarkets in Westchester County who now don't want to go through with their deals, according to reports.
The bankrupt grocery chain, which is liquidating its assets, filed an adversary complaint against Millwood Merchant, LLC, a company owned by Jamie Luna, last week, according to this Daily Voice report , suing the buyer in the $2.4 million.
A&P argues that failing to close on the sale constitutes a breach of contract, the Daily Voice report said.
Shanghai Enterprises, which successfully bid $928,000 for the Hastings-on-Hudson store, also informed A& it does not intend to close on the deal, lohud.com said. Read the lohud story here .
