The first widespread accumulating snowfall of the season packed a strong punch in the tristate area, with some parts of the region seeing as much as 4 inches by nightfall Saturday.

Another 1-3 inches of accumulation is possible through around midnight.

A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Sunday. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high in the upper 30s.
