Motorists planning on traveling on the Saw Mill River Parkway in southern Westchester may experience delays for several months as crews continue bridge construction in Greenburgh.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, Jan. 8, the northbound side of the parkway, between Exit 20 (I-87 to I-287) and Exit 21 (Route 119) will be reduced to a single lane and the I-87 ramp (Exit 7A) to the parkway northbound will be closed.

The closures are expected to last through May.

According to the NYSDOT, motorists on I-87 northbound intending to use Exit 7A should follow the posted detour. A single lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions at the location, but delays are expected for several months.
