Motorists who will be on the road during the Tuesday afternoon/evening commute should be prepared for slippery conditions on many roadways even as snowfall is winding down from west to east from a clipper system that arrived late in the morning.

Snowfall has started to taper off in much of the area as commuters hit the road, but there will still be slick spots, and patches of ice, after the snowfall ends.

There is a chance of snow showers during the evening Tuesday.

There were separate rollover crashes on I-684: one southbound after a van overturned near Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah just before noon and another later on the northbound side near Hardscrabble Road in North Salem.

Many schools in the area canceled after-school activities, and some had early dismissals. For the rundown of schools, click here.
