“The Toughman Triathlon has set up its Toughman Community Fund to accept donations for the victims of Hurricane Sandy,” Rye Brook chiropractor and Toughman spokesperson Richard Izzo said. “In viewing the images of people suffering, our Toughman family wanted to help in any way we could,”
The event is a half iron triathlon that occurs each year at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson with its bike course traversing Peekskill, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining and Briarcliff Manor and back to the start in Croton-on-Hudson. To date, the race has raised more than $700,000 for 56 charities through the efforts of its participants and volunteers
All donations will be sent to the United Way and Red Cross. The triathlon also will donate $25 from every entry received until Jan 1. The race is in September. Corporate matching is encouraged.
