Pace's Gee, Owens Named USA Football Preseason All-Americans

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. --  Two Pace University football players earned spots on the USA Football Preseason All-American Team this past week. Senior defensive lineman Tyler Owens and senior defensive back Jamir Gee were both named to the Preseason All-American Second Team by USA Football.

Owens is an NE-10 All-Conference Second Team Defense selection following an outstanding junior season. The anchor of the Setter defense last season, he finishing third on the team with 64 tackles. Owens was tied for eighth in the NE-10 with 10.5 tackles for loss and finished as the NE-10 leader in blocked kicks. His six blocked kicks also tied him for first nationally in Division II. He was a two-time ECAC Player of the Week in 2014, one time for Special Teams and one time for Defense.

Gee is an NE-10 All-Conference Second Team Defense selection, in addition to garnering ECAC All-Star honors in 2014. He was one of the most reliable members of the Pace defense in 2014, recording 71 tackles, including seven for losses, a pair of forced fumbles, and four interceptions. He led the team in tackles and interceptions this season and ranked second in tackles for loss. He finished tied for third in the NE-10 in interceptions while his 114 interception return yards placed him second in the conference.

Owens and Gee were both Northeast-10 All-Conference selections in 2014, with Gee earning ECAC All-Star honors as well.
