Pace University Swimmers Named Setters Of The Month

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University Athletics has named men's swimmer Brian Sosa and women's swimmer Madison Kiefer as the Pace Athletics SAAC Setters of the month for November.

Kiefer led the way for women's swimming team this month after posting four top finishes in three meets. In a Nov. 8 tri-meet against Assumption and Roger Williams, she posted top finishes in the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 10:57.41 and 5:23.35, respectively.

In the following meet at Fairfield, Kiefer was a member of the team that posted a first-place time of 4:12.84 in the 400-meter freestyle relay event. She concluded her impressive month at the Nov. 22 meet at Rowan University, where she earned top honors in both the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle events. She completed the 1,000 in 10:50.39 before finishing the 500 in 5:22.30.

Sosa was the top competitor for the men's swimming squad this month after claiming seven first-place finishes in just three meets. He began his November with three first-place times during a Nov. 8 meet against Roger Williams. After earning first in the 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke with times of 2:01.61 and 1:59.63, respectively, Sosa concluded his extraordinary day with the top finish of 4:57.79 in the 500 freestyle.

A week later, he earned a victory in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:15.18 during a meet against Fairfield. Sosa closed out the month with three more first-place finishes during a meet against Rowan. First, he finished the 200 butterfly with top time of 2:00.99. Next, Sosa touched first in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:58.43. Finally, he concluded the day with the 400 IM, where he ended with the winning time of 4:17.70.
