OSSINING, N.Y. The Ossining varsity baseball team will host the first annual Christian Federico Memorial Baseball Tournament on Sunday at Anne M. Dorner Middle School. The tournament is held in honor of a 2008 Ossining graduate and former varsity player who passed away while jogging at the University of Maryland, said Ossining baseball coach Bill Casey.
Casey, the junior varsity baseball coach when Federico was a varsity player, said Federico was studying to become an athletic trainer.
Scarsdale will play Mount Vernon at 9 a.m., followed by Saunders and Ossining at approximately 11:30 a.m. The consolation game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the final at 4:30 p.m.
