Northern Westchester Football Standouts Honored At Golden Dozen Banquet

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Senior varsity football standouts who excel both on the football field and in the classroom were honored as Westchester's chapter of the National Football Hall of Fame held its 44th annual Golden Dozen award banquet Thursday evening at the Westchester Country Club in Rye.

The Golden Dozen has become one of the area's most prestigious awards.

Ian Esliker of Pleasantville High School, who was among the honorees, was named the recipient of the Chris Mello Award, a scholarship named after a Rye graduate and former Golden Dozen player who was killed on 9/11.

Others named to the Golden Dozen team were: Conor Ahern, Byram Hills High School; Hannes Boehning, Rye Country Day School; Jose Boyer, Yorktown High School; Winston Britton, The Hackley School; Nicholas Cunningham, Hendrick Hudson High School; Robert Donohue, Harrison High School; Brett Egan, Rye High School (Draddy Family Scholarship winner); Jack Guida, Brewster High School; Barry Klein, Scarsdale High School; Anthony Lombardi, Somers High School; and Daniel O'Rourke, Mamaroneck High School (Anthony Sabella Memorial Scholarship award winner).

Honorable Mention award-winners were: Amari Bilal, Woodlands High School; Sam Brandeis, Blind Brook High School; Thomas Chai, Rye Country Day School; Dominick Cioffi, Yorktown High School; Will Cotter, Hackley School; Douglas Crocitto, Pleasantville High School; Antonio Giannico, Archbishop Stepinac High School; Thomas (TJ) Lavelle, Rye High School; Nicholas Leone, Scarsdale High School; Izayah Powell, Archbishop Stepinac High School; Dylan Quirk, Scarsdale High School; Matthew Roche, Eastchester High School; Adam Schur, Horace Greeley High School; and Stephen Windisch, Harrison High School.

The Westchester Chapter has now honored 529 scholar-athletes and awarded over $500,000 in scholarships since 1973.
