Horace Greeley Presses by Harrison, 55-43

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – Horace Greeley felt it was time to press the issue in the third quarter of its Booster Club Tournament first-round girls’ basketball game with Harrison, Thursday.

Once the Quakers unleashed their zone press, they seized command of the game and went on to a 55-43 victory over the Huskies.

Horace Greeley will play John Jay-Cross River in the title game on Saturday at 4 p.m. Harrison will face Ramapo in the consolation game on Saturday at noon.

Jackie Brett led the Quakers with a game-high 19 points and Izzy Berkey added 16 points.The Quakers led 36-29 early in the third when they set up their press. The result was five consecutive Harrison turnovers, enabling the Quakers to extend their lead to 47-32.

Lindsay Hill added six points and Andi Picker had six points and four steals for the Quakers.
