OSSINING, N.Y. -- It will be a game Friday that can either make or break Ossining or Horace Greeleys football season. Both teams enter their 7 p.m. game with 3-2 records and coming off of disappointing losses. Whichever team drops to 3-3 might be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs going into the final week of the regular season. Horace Greeley was crushed by John Jay-Cross River, 42-14, last week. More importantly though, Greeley all-everything quarterback/linebacker Justin Ciero missed the majority of the second half with a leg injury. Ossining did not fare any better as Harrison rumbled away with a 31-0 win. Ossining will be without running back Stephen Candelaria, who is sidelined with an injury. Marc Clancy, who has five touchdowns, and Sebastian Montenegro will aim to pick up for Candelarias absence. If the ground game stalls, Ossining can turn to Bucknell-bound quarterback Brian Connolly. Once Ciero went down with the injury last week, Greeleys offense had difficulty moving the ball. Coach Bill Tribou alternated Brett Mester and Cameron Ciero at quarterback last week after Ciero left the game.
