Horace Greeley Girls Swim Team Repeats As Section 1 Champs

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Horace Greeley girls swim team came away victorious at the Section 1 championships for the second year in a row, finishing with 339 points, topping Fox Lane High School of Bedford.

Four Horace Greeley school records were broken at the championships.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Emma Hadley, Isabella Weiner, Erica Silverman and Zoe Kerrich set the school record with a time of 1:49.13.

Silverman also set a school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time 57.29 seconds. Hadley set the school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.01 seconds. Kerrich set the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.95.

Kristina Barry, Mary Fitzsimmons, Emma Hadley, Rachel Hellman, Zoe Kerrich, Kaisa Malendowicz, Cate Sawkins, Emma Sawkins, Erica Silverman and Isabella Weiner will represent Horace Greeley at the Nov. 22-23 state championships at Ithaca College.
