CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Horace Greeley High School's football team will get the ball rolling on Saturday with its annual Strongman and Strongboy Competitions.

The events run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Upper Practice Field. As in prior years, competing players will be divided into separate weight divisions and compete both individually and in teams.

These are the challenging events:

  • Tire Flip: a timed event where athletes will flip a 250-pound to 300-pound tire across the width of the football field.
  • Farmer’s Walk: a timed event where athletes will hold eight 100 or 120 pounds in each arm and move across the width of the field.
  • 40-yard Dash
  • 5-10-5 Run
  • Sled Push
  • Obstacle Course

As always, the day’s events will conclude with the ever-popular tug-of-war.

After the events, players and spectators are invited to a family picnic hosted by the varsity parent committee.
