CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Pleasantville's Bryce Polenz from World Cup Gymnastics and  competed in the West Point Open at the U.S. Military Academy on Sunday, Jan. 19.

Polenz competed for World Cup Gymnastics in the level five competition. He took home the first place win by earning the highest score on high bar, second highest on rings, and fourth on floor and pommel horse.

Polenz is no stranger to the podium, earning the title of top level four gymnast at the 2013 New York State Championships last March.  He is looking forward to defending his title this March in Binghamton.

"I am lucky to coach a boy with so much potential," said coach Bob Kayser.

"He sets himself apart from other competitors by being adept at all 6 of the men's gymnastics events. Being so strong at his young age gives him a clear advantage.  I am proud of his accomplishments and hope to coach him for years to come."

World Cup Gymnastics has a history of great athletes.   2013 World Championship medalist John Orozco trained in Chappaqua for 10 years. He currently trains at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado.  He is widely regarded as one of the top U.S. gymnasts.

World Cup Gymnastics in Chappaqua offers programs for children ages three months to 16 years of age.  Their boys and girls competitive teams compete in state, regional and national championships.

In addition, WCG offers recreational classes, private lessons, tumbling for cheerleaders, Kids Night Out on Saturday evenings and birthday parties.
