CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The Horace Greeley High School boys’ basketball team will travel to rival Byram Hills High School on Monday at 6:15 p.m. for a league match-up.

The Bobcats defeated the Quakers in their first meeting on Jan. 18. Brian Skelly led the team with 19 points. Ryan Golden had 15 points and nine rebounds in that game, while Jeff Lynch added 15 points, five assists and five steals. Andrew Groll had a double-double for Byram Hills with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Greeley star Harrison Brown had 28 points.

Greeley is coming off a two-point overtime win against Port Chester High School on Friday in which Brown scored 22 points. The Quakers have also played some close games this year against Croton-Harmon and Dobbs Ferry high schools but lost both times.

The Quakers earned some wins against Rye and Port Chester high schools this season and are certainly capable of pulling off the upset, particularly if Brown can dominate in the paint. He will have to deal with Groll, but Brown earned plenty of points in the last game and can do so again Monday.

The trio of Lynch, Golden and Groll has led Byram Hills to the top portion of the Class A standings this season. But contributions from other players such as Skelly have rounded out the team and given Byram Hills some extra firepower. When Lynch has stayed healthy, in particular, the Bobcats have been tough to stop.

A win for Horace Greeley would certainly help with playoff seeding at this point in this season, but the Quakers will have to work hard to earn it against Byram Hills.
