CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- River Elms continued his excellent summer swim season, setting a team record in the Chappaqua Swim & Dive Teams win over Mt. Kisco Memorial Pool, 271-215, Monday.
Elms was a triple winner for the third time in as many meets, touching the wall first in the 14-and-under breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Elms established a new team standard in the butterfly with a time of 30.16 seconds, eclipsing the old record of 30.45 seconds set by Henry Simon in 2009.
The 11-and-under boys' freestyle relay quartet of Ellis Ritchie, Stephen Pearce, Joe Weiner and Wyatt Yates also set a new team record, covering the distance in two minutes and 25.3 second. They shaved almost two seconds off the former mark of 2:26.97.
Margaux Weiner and Pearce were also triple winners. Weiner won the girls' 12-and-under backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and Pearce came in first in the boys' 10-and-under backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Tommy St. Vincent, Zoe Kerrich, John Koster, Katie Sternkopf, Kate Posner, Luka Cekic and Nora Kuduk all won two races apiece for Chappaqua.
