CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – Sports fans in Chappaqua had plenty to talk about in the past 12 months, from Olympic hometown heroes to head coaching changes. Here are the top sports stories in Chappaqua from 2012:

A Local Olympian

Male gymnast John Orozco, a Bronx native, trained at World Cup Gymnastics in Chappaqua for much of his career. Locals supported him and watched eagerly as Orozco competed with his American teammates at the Summer Olympics in London this summer.

Greeley Football Coach Resigns…

The Chappaqua Central School District suspended longtime Horace Greeley football coach Bill Tribou indefinitely in April and then accepted his resignation in August. Tribou had been with Greeley for more than 25 years.

…And A New Coach Steps In

Tim Sullivan, whom Tribou mentored, took over as head coach of the Quakers for the 2012-13 season. The new coach led Greeley to a 1-7 record.
