Six people are running for two seats on the Chappaqua Board of Election in next month's elections.

Incumbent Victoria Tipp, Sanford Benardo, Rhonda Kaufman, Leah Heiss, Dean Rock and Jane Shepardson will all be on the ballot. Trustee Karen Visser is not running for re-election.

It has been a tumultuous year for the district. Superintendent Lyn McKay retired after calls for her resignation over her handling of a sex-abuse scandal involving former Horace Greeley High School drama teacher Christopher Schraufnagel.

In November, Michael Taylor, the assistant principal at Horace Greeley High School, sued the district for racial discrimination. A guidance counselor resigned after the board removed her as head of the guidance department claiming the district accused her of encouraging students to criticize the school district.
