Same Faces, New Look For Chappaqua School Board

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — The Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education will have no new faces in 2012-13, but board members shifted their seats around at Tuesday night's annual reorganization meeting to match their new roles.

Victoria Tipp will now serve as president after her nomination was unanimously approved by the board. Tipp was elected in 2011 and is serving her first three-year term.

"I am honored to serve the board as president," Tipp said. "I thank the board for your confidence that was placed in me, and I'd like to continue the work that we've been doing."

The board's previous president, Alyson Kiesel, who ran unopposed for a second term on the board in May, will now be vice president. Kiesel called her busy year as president a "labor of love."

"I'd like to acknowledge Alyson Kiesel tonight for all the work that she put in last year as board president," said Superintendent Lyn McKay. "On a personal level she was an enormous support to me, and I appreciate it very much."

Taking their oaths of office, Tipp and Kiesel swore to support the constitutions of the United States and New York and carry out duties on the board to the best of their abilities.
