Roaring Brook Principal Search Extended Six Weeks

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - The search for Roaring Brook Elementary School's next principal has been extended until April, according to Chappaqua Central School District Superintendent Lyn McKay.

After failing to find a candidate through the first round of applications, the search has be re-opened. Advertisements will once again be placed in The New York Times and Education Week, with an application deadline of April 11.

"While the Greeley principal search resulted in an exceptional candidate, the search for Roaring Brook’s next educational leader has been extended," said McKay.

According to McKay, the search process the second time around will not be as structured. Instead of having scheduled rounds and interview dates, candidates for the position will meet with a 12-member interview committee on a rolling basis.

"This means that candidates will be screened and interviewed as applications come in so we may be in a position to select finalists prior to the April 11th closing date," said McKay.
