Levy has served as the elementary school’s principal for the last 12 years but is set to retire effective July 31, according to a statement from the district. Roberts has served the Yorktown school community for 16 of her 25 years in education and was assistant principal at Yorktown High School for four years, according to the release.

Superintendent Ralph Napolitano praised Roberts as the new leader of Crompond School.

“First and foremost, Mrs. Roberts cares about children and provides many opportunities for them to grow and develop into competent, caring and confident learners who want to make a difference,” Napolitano said in the release. “She is a lifelong learner who is always interested in applying the most effective and efficient strategies to today’s classrooms; she is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Manhattanville College, where she continues to thoughtfully examine how children learn best.”

Roberts has participated in and often facilitates several district committees and study groups, including Positive Behavior Intervention Support, Response to Intervention, Annual Professional Performance Review, Curriculum Council, technology team building and district Emergency Response Teams, according to the release.
