CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- This year’s Horace Greeley High School Junior Recognition Ceremony took place on May 28th at 3:30pm in the HGHS auditorium. The ceremony was an opportunity to formally acknowledge members of the Class of 2014 for their outstanding commitment and accomplishments in the areas of academics, athletics, and service to school, and service to the larger community.

R.I.T. COMPUTING MEDAL & SCHOLARSHIP AWARD Awarded to a junior who ranks in the top 10% of the junior class. The recipient is involved as a leader in their school and/or community, demonstrates an interest and ability in computing, and is pursuing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. William Jagels
ENGLISH CITIZENSHIP AWARD Awarded to a junior who demonstrates excellence in English, as well as takes part in English-related activities. This student represents qualities of character, citizenship and academic achievement. Elizabeth Pott OBERLIN COLLEGE BOOK AWARD Awarded to the junior with the highest academic standing in English. Julia Desmarais PERFORMING ARTS NEW YORK STATE SCHOOL MUSIC ASSOCIATION AWARD All State – Orchestra Each year, thousands of junior and senior musicians from New York State audition at the New York State School Music Association Evaluation Festival. The top scoring high school musicians are chosen to perform in the All-State Band, Orchestra, Chorus and Jazz Band. The Performing Arts Department is honored to recognize students from Horace Greeley who have been selected for these ensembles.
