The fair is the only science research competition of its kind in New York that provides the opportunity for first-year science research students to present, via poster board in a competitive setting, their understanding of all aspects of previously published research, as well as their design of an intended original research project, according to a release from the Chappaqua Central School District.
This year, there were 469 first-year science research students representing 28 high schools, with 459 posters adjudicated by almost 400 judges.
