Chappaqua Ranked Among Nation's Best Public School Districts

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Chappaqua Central Schools were recently ranked the 10th best school system in the nation, according to Niche, an education website dedicated to providing rankings and statistics on school districts throughout the country.

Niche compiled statistics for over 13,000 public schools with at least 100 students enrolled and graded them on a set of eight weighted factors including:

  • Academics
  • Health and safety
  • Student culture and diversity
  • Parent and student surveys
  • Teachers' grade
  • Resources and facilities 
  • Extracurriculars and activities 
  • Sports

Chappaqua schools excelled in several categories, netting the top grade of "A+" in academics, health and safety, and teachers' grade. 

The districts lowest mark was a "B-" in student culture and diversity. 

The top school in the nation, according to Niche, was Edgemont. 

Five other Westchester County schools also cracked the top 25: Scarsdale Union Free (No.5),  Rye City Schools (No. 8), Blind Brook-Rye Union Free (No. 17), Bronxville Union Free (No. 20) and Rye Neck Union Free (No. 22).
