The Board of Education approved the agreement at Wednesday night’s March 20 public meeting.
Key elements of the ratified Memorandum of Agreement:
- Salary increases: The salary for administrators will increase by 1.7 percent for each year of the agreement.
- Health insurance contribution increases: Health insurance premium contributions will rise from the current rate of 15 percent to 16 percent for 2013-14, and to 17.5 percent for 2014-15.
- Longevity and tenure stipend change: An annual physical examination reimbursement amount of $400 will be shifted to the longevity and tenure stipend.
“Arriving at this agreement was a very fluid process,” said Lyn McKay, Superintendent of Chappaqua Schools. “The administrators worked hand-in-hand with the bargaining team, and in these difficult financial times, our administrators understood that they could be a part of the solution.”
The agreement is similar to the one recently ratified by the teacher’s union on Feb. 27, in both its salary increases and its health insurance premium contribution increases.
