NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk officials have decided not to cancel Halloween in the city Wednesday, though the cleanup from Hurricane Sandy is continuing.
Mayor Richard Moccia said Tuesday that he does not recommend children head out to trick or treat in the city, but he believes the decision whether to participate in the annual event should be up to individual families.
“My suggestion would be, if you do want to celebrate Halloween, do it indoors and at a party,” Moccia said.
Several neighborhoods around Norwalk still have downed trees and wires, and Moccia said children obviously should stay out of those areas.
