Weston Fireworks Show Offers Something New

WESTON, Conn. — The fireworks from Atlas PyroVision Productions at Weston's July 4 celebration will be familiar to many residents who have attended past shows, but an Atlas executive promises a few new items.

"There will be some different colors and a smiling apple pattern," Atlas VP Matt Shea said. "There will be new items and more pattern cells."

The 25-minute show, which starts around 9:20 p.m. at the Middle School field, will feature 1650 shells three to five inches in diameter, according to David Ungar, director of the Weston Parks and Recreation department.

Early in the day workers were to install mortars in the field to hold the fireworks. The products will be loaded and wired before they are shot off.

Ungar promised a great show, presuming the thunderstorms hold off and the skies are clear.
