Sheldon Good & Company will conduct an auction to sell a six-bedroom, 8,428-square-foot home located at 22 Random Farms Drive. The auction takes place Sunday, July 15, at the property.
Outfitted with luxury amenities throughout its three stories, the contemporary home presides over a private setting of more than 3 landscaped acres of grounds.
The home is part of the Random Farms community, which offers residents an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and clubhouse.
According to Mark Troen, the chief operating officer of Sheldon Good & Company, among the reasons the buyer decided to auction rather than sell the house is that the buyer will name his or her own price.
In a neighborhood where comparable homes sell for about $2 million, a buyer can set their own market price at any number from $999,000 and above, he said.
Auctioning provides an additional attraction to buyers, said Troen: Unlike the current average in Westchester County of more than 200 days on market for conventional listings, the auction marketing period is 45 days.
So, in less than two months, the property sells.
Compare this to almost seven months needed for a traditional home sale, he said.
What amenities drape an almost $1 million (for starters) home?
