Bankruptcy Forces Auction Of Pound Ridge Mansion

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Want to own a 14,000-square-foot “trophy” home on 5.8 acres of land in Pound Ridge at a bargain price?

Thanks to an auction sale mandated by the U.S Bankruptcy Court, you’ll have that chance.

A sprawling Conant Valley Road estate with its own private hunting grounds will be offered in a one-day-only absolute auction this month, which means there is no reserve price mandating a minimum bid for the property. It will go to the highest bidder regardless of whether the price is $10 or $10 million.

The modern six-bedroom mansion, which boasts a three-bedroom guest quarters, is spread across two wings: one for personal living that includes the master bedroom suite and master bath, and the other for entertainment with its heated indoor pool, spa and guest bedrooms, according to the New York-based Madison Hawk Partners LLC, a national real estate firm specializing in structured accelerated sales.

“This estate blends tranquil grounds with a modern home designed to entertain and amenities one would expect in a trophy residence,” said Jeff Hubbard, president of Madison Hawk. “This auction represents a unique opportunity to purchase a high-caliber property in a sought-after location at a value price.”

The home also features a chef’s kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights, and wrap-around balconies that overlook the heavily landscaped property. The entertainment amenities include a glass-enclosed indoor pool and raised hot tub that features flame shooters and decorative waterfall. There’s also a wet bar, fitness center, sauna and a retractable roof.

Outside, the grounds feature a children’s playground, stone terrace, fire pit, decked heated pool and spa, mature trees and forestry with walking trails, and the personnel hunting grounds.

The auction will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., with the auction commencing at 7 p.m. Potential buyers can view the home at pre-auction open houses scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, as well as Aug. 11, 12, 18 and 19, from noon to 3 p.m., and on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A detailed due-diligence packet is available at a cost of $20 and contains specific information related to the estate, the auction and the terms of sale. For more information, call 212-971-9720 or visit www.madisonhawk.com/auctions/westchester/.
