What a night it was!!!!

german59:

Romney took Obama to the woodshed. Obama could not even contest him the facts he gave, of course NOW his handlers have given him the script to read that Romney lied. All Romney had to say was that he would have rather inherited Bush "mess" than your MESS.

edtrader:

It must have been opposite day. The only thing that Romney won is the the "Flip-Flopper Award." Anything he said in the last 18 months was reversed during the debate. It's easy to win when facts and maintaining position don't get in the way!

fedupinny:

Way to go Romney. I'm so tired of people making every excuse there is for Obama including his performance last night. He is not up to the job, didn't perform and needs to be voted out of office. As for PBS, Romney is absolutely right. If we have to borrow money from China to retain programs then they cannot be crucial enough to keep, PBS was just an example as there is much waste in our Federal Government.

cake1955:

Romney won on comportment, which probably means more to voters than the fact that he changed positions to appeal to an audience that might include the maligned 47%. Obama looked as though he was suffering from a migraine.

Governor Romney said that he would balance the budget in part by eliminating funding of PBS. HA, HA, sigh. Newt Gingrich did a butcher's job on big bird year's ago and the current level of support for PBS is trivial. I heard no suggestions from the Governor on how he was going to reduce Federal spending. He hit hard against curbing spending for auxiliary medicare programs. That put back would not reduce the deficit.

The argument against going national with the successful health insurance policy in Massachusetts was based on angels dancing on the head of the 10th amendment. The Governor just set aside that constitutionality of Obama Care was affirmed by the Supreme Court.

How can anyone hold the congressional gridlock against the president when Senator McConnell made the failure of President Obama his top priority, when Senator Grassley reneged on his commitment to work on health care with Senator Baucus, and Senator Toomey said that we should not increase the debt limit and have a severe shock to world finances. Does anybody believes that Governor Romney will induce rationality in the Republican party?

I suppose the issue is what the meaning of win is. Governor Romney proved himself to be, like George W. Bush, a charming dimwit.

This was the most lop sided Presidential debate I've ever watched. Gov. Romney showed the Country that he has the experience, knowledge, and Leadership skills to move our Country away from the horrible, failed, and quite frankly,,,lying politics of this current Administration. I only hope the American people can digest the facts and issues, and get away from the 'corrupt main stream' media who have made themselves part of Obama's campaign team. Our 'journalism' in this Country is 'down the drain', and outright 'corrupt'. People need to look at both candidates for 'themselves',,,understand the dreadful situation our Country is in,,at home, and abroad, and make an intelligent decision. After looking at last night,,that decision should not be that difficult. Like earlier comment said,,if it were a boxing match,,the ref would have stopped in the fifth round. So,,,the truth is,,,'finally' coming to the surface. It's about time.

The only thing that this debate proved is that Jim Lehrer should have retired a long time ago.

cjmesq:

Romney destroyed this child-president. He scolded him on his failed policies, and schooled him on the Constitution and capitalism. Not Obama-styed crony-capitalism, but free markets, something that is foreign to Obama.

I hope our local school kids were watching, because they received an education on the difference between a leader, an American visionary, and a pop-culture icon.

firecommish:

If this debate was a boxing match I think the ref would of stopped the match half way through. Obama proved his inability to lead this country and his failed policies were evident last night as he didn't have his telepromter or the media to protect him.
