CHAPPAQUA, N.Y – The New Castle Town Board meeting originally scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Tuesday will pushed back for a 7:30 p.m. executive session to discuss personnel and a 7:45 work sessions to discuss revaluation.
The town board meeting is now slated to begin at 8 p.m.
Although this meeting was initially slated to be the next public hearing for Conifer Realty’s request for a special permit for its Chappaqua Station proposal , the applicants will yet again not be in attendance. Thus, Tuesday night’s public hearing will be for adjournment purposes only and to announce a new date.
This will be Conifer’s third consecutive no show, after postponing its Town Board meeting appearances set for Feb. 12 and March 12 .
On Feb. 28, the New Castle Town Board passed a Sense of the Board resolution on the controversial affordable housing proposal.
In the 12-page resolution, the board listed concerns about Conifer’s five-story, 36-unit building called Chappaqua Station for 54 Hunts Place.
A special permit from the Town Board would be needed for the proposal to go forward. The recent resolution figures to make obtaining such a permit that much more difficult for Conifer.
