Occupation: Principal court attorney to a New York State Supreme Court Justice for 18 years, attorney for 25 years.

What town do you live in? Millbrook

How long have you lived there? Since 1987, though for a period in between my husband and I and then our children lived in Westchester and Putnam counties.

Party affiliation: Democrat

Ballot lines held: Democrat, Conservative, Independence, Working Families.

Are you an incumbent? No.

Other elected positions held (none), Sought: Town Justice, Town of Washington, 2009.

Civic Organizations: Dutchess County Bar Association, Columbian Lawyers Association, Brandeis Association of Westchester County, mid-Hudson Women's Bar Association

Educational background: Albany Law School graduate, 1987; Albany State University graduate, 1984

What are the three biggest issues that concern you? The issues that I am permitted to address in response to your questions as to those that concern me all relate to the court system and the efficient administration of justice. The rules of Judicial Ethics in elections prohibit me from publicly stating opinions on political issues.

What qualifies you to be a Supreme Court Justice? My education and professional experience.

Why should people vote for you? I believe that I can see to it that all people who come to our court are treated fairly, and that the law is correctly applied to their cases in a timely and respectful manner. I have enjoyed my work as a principal court attorney for the past 18 years. Now that the Supreme Court justice for whom I have worked all these years has reached the age which requires that his seat be vacated, it seems a natural progression for me to try to continue my work by seeking that position.

It is my goal to be elected to the New York State Supreme Court bench this fall so that I may continue to serve the public in a manner that supports the true purpose of our democracy, and the tenets of the New York State and United States Constitutions based on justice and equality. It is, and has always been, important to me that anyone who come to our court knows that the court cares about their case, that they have been heard and given a fair chance, and that they leave the court knowing that our justice system works.
