Hillary Clinton's decision to set up a private email server in her Chappaqua home during her time as Secretary of State is once again under investigation by the FBI.

The news comes 11 days before Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, faces Republican nominee Donald Trump on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The FBI Director James Comey informed congressional leaders Friday afternoon that the bureau will investigate whether there was any classified material in new emails uncovered in the closed investigation of Clinton’s use of the server.

In his letter, Comey said he learned on Thursday of the existence of emails obtained through an unrelated case that appear to be pertinent to the Clinton investigation.

The New York Times is reporting the emails are from electronic devices belonging to Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her husband, for New York Congressman and New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner.

The FBI is investigating illicit text messages that Weiner allegedly sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina, according to the Times.

“I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,” Comey said.

Comey said he did not know how long it would take to complete the review or how significant the information is. It has been reported that the newly discovered emails related to Clinton investigation did not come from her private server.

In July, Comey closed its investigation of Clinton's use of a private email server recommending no charges be filed. He said Clinton was "extremely careless" with her handling of classified material.

John Podesta, chair of Clinton's campaign, called for Comey to provide the American public with more information and said it is extraordinary this would be released bore the election.

"Already, we have seen characterizations that the FBI is “reopening” an investigation but Comey’s words do not match that characterization," Podesta said in a statement. "Director Comey’s letter refers to emails that came to light in an unrelated case, but we have no idea what those emails are and the Director himself notes they may not even be significant. We are confident this will not produce any conclusions different from the one the FBI reached in July."

Clinton has apologized for setting up the private server but said she never knowingly sent classified material.

Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
