Chappaqua: Who's On Your Ballot

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The presidential race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will headline the ballot in November, but that’s not all Chappaqua residents will be voting for on Election Day.

Voters also will be choosing between several U.S. Congressional, state Senate and Assembly candidates Nov. 6 and all the races are outlined in our 2012 Election Guide:

U.S. Congress District 17: Rep. Nita Lowey (D) is seeking re-election in the 17th Congressional District against challenger Joe Carvin (R). Frank Morganthaler is on the We the People party line. District 17 consists of Rockland County, Yorktown, Peekskill, Cortlandt, Mount Kisco, New Castle, Ossining, Mount Pleasant, North Castle, Greenburgh, Harrison and Rye.

State Senate District 40: State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C - Patterson) is seeking re-election in state Senate District 40 against challenger Justin Wagner (D-Croton-on-Hudson). The 40th Senate District consists of Lewisboro, Somers, North Salem, Pound Ridge, Yorktown, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Mount Kisco, New Castle and Mount Pleasant in Westchester and parts of Putnam and Dutchess counties.

State Assembly District 93: Assembly member Bob Castelli (R, C – Goldens Bridge) is seeking re-election in Assembly District 93 against challenger David Buchwald (D – White Plains). The 93rd Assembly District consists of White Plains, Bedford, Harrison, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle and Pound Ridge.

Westchester County Court: New Castle Town Justice David Zuckerman (D) is running against Port Chester Acting Village Justice Matthew Troy III (R) for a seat on the Westchester County Court.

How to vote : The voter registration deadline is Oct. 12. Residents can register in person between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas St., White Plains.

Residents also can download and print a voter registration form from the board's website . Mail applications must be postmarked by Oct. 12 and received by the board of elections no later than Oct. 17. Find more information here .
