CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. The November election is right around the corner and the voter registration deadline is even sooner, Oct. 12.
Chappaqua residents can register in person between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas St., White Plains.
Residents can also download and print a voter registration form from the board's website . Mail applications must be postmarked by Oct. 12 and received by the board of elections no later then Oct. 17.
If you already are a registered voter, there is no need to re-register. You must re-register if:
- You have moved to a new address
- You have changed your name
- You have moved and changed your name
In order to vote in the upcoming November election, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age before election day (Nov. 6), live at your present address for at least 30 days before the election and not claim the right to vote anywhere else. People who have been judged mentally incompetent or those on parole for felony convictions are restricted from voting.
