Shenorock resident, Aleksandra Halerz, 23, and Joseph Watts, 23, of Chappaqua, were accused of having 32 grams of heroin, divided into 106 packages, along with a hypodermic syringe.
Both parties were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third degree. Both charges are Class B felonies.
Halerz and Watts were arraigned before Somers Town Justice Dennis Timone and sent to Westchester County Jail. They are due to reappear in court on Jan.14 at 6 p.m.
In another drug-related incident, New York State Police stopped Roger Perry, 19, of New Fairfield, Conn., on Tuesday for driving at 89 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 684. The state trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A search disclosed approximately 40 grams of marijuana.
Perry was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a Class B misdemeanor. He was released on an appearance ticket, for Lewisboro Town Court on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
These incidents follow a December drug raid in Somers in which four people were arrested on heroin charges.
