Suspect Caught After Crashing Stolen Vehicle In Westchester, Police Say

A local man was arrested for ripping off a car in Westchester after crashing the vehicle.

The incident took place around 8:48 p.m. Thursday in the area of the McDonald's on Wildey Street, said Tarrytown Police Lt. Greg Budnar.

Tarrytown Police, along with the Greenburgh Drug Task Force officers and Sleepy Hollow Police patrol units responded to the report of a stolen vehicle robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, the officer’s quickly located the suspect, Stanley Martinez, 29, of Sleepy Hollow, and the stolen vehicle which had been involved in a motor vehicle crash in the area, Budnar said.

Martinez was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery 2nd degree and grand larceny. 

During the incident both the victim and the defendant sustained injuries, Budnar said.

 The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
