Police Release Description Of Suspect Sought In Yorktown Kmart Robbery

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Police have released a description of the suspect in a robbery that was reported in the parking lot of Kmart in Yorktown Heights on Thursday and are seeking the public's help in the case.

The victim, a woman, was sitting in her car when an unknown male opened her front passenger side door and sat inside the car, holding her at knifepoint and demanding money, police said.

The woman hesitated and the man cut her with a knife and ran off with money and a her cellphone, police said. 

After several minutes, he fled and proceeded in an unknown direction. A search was then conducted by both Yorktown Police and Westchester County Police Aviation.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s and a light-skinned black male. He is approximately 5-foot-8 and average weight with light pock marks on both cheeks, police said. 

He was wearing a light gray parka-type jacket with tan fur around the hood and a black, beanie-type hat.
