County police received an emergency 911 call at approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from residents on Gregory Avenue reporting that a fellow tenant had attacked them with a large knife following an argument.

Police said that the tenants reported that 43-year-old Carlos Ramirez-Perez, who lived in the building, lunged at them with the knife, making contact with clothing, though not cutting or injuring his victim.

During a search of the building, Ramirez-Perez was eventually found in possession of the knife hiding in a small room in the basement. He was arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and menacing, a misdemeanor. He is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
