WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A man from Croton-on-Hudson had his car broken into and his wallet stolen in Scarsdale after a suspect broke his car window at a local tennis club, Scarsdale Police said.

Members of the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to the County Tennis Club of Westchester on Sunday afternoon, where there was a reported larceny of a vehicle after an unknown suspect smashed through the window of a 2008 Volvo.

According to police, the victim told officers that at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday he had parked his vehicle across the street from 6 Brook Lane and he returned to his vehicle hours later to find that his driver’s side window had been broken into.

Police said that the victim told officers that his wallet had been located under the driver’s seat and was stolen from the vehicle. It contained his driver’s license, credit cards and $150 cash.

Officers canvassed the Westchester County Path searching for a suspect that may have been involved, but no one has been brought in. Adjacent houses to the tennis club were also canvassed for witnesses or surveillance video.

The incident is under investigation. Keep following Daily Voice for updates as they become available.
