Mount Kisco Teen Threatens Another With Knife, Police Say

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A 16-year-old Mount Kisco resident is facing several charges after being accused by police of threatening to stab another teen.

Westchester County Police officers have charged a 16-year-old boy with menacing and weapons possession. The youth was accused of threatening another teen with a knife at Leonard Park in Mount Kisco.

Westchester County Police said the incident took place at Leonard Park around 4:48 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23.

The unidentified village youth is accused of displaying a knife while making a threat.

He was arrested near the Tea House, a stone building perched beside Wallace Pond, police said.

The teen has been charged with second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.

The park is located off Route 172.

  • Thursday, Feb. 23: A jogger told Westchester County Police that she was being harassed by a man who, on several occasions, had run alongside her and tried to engage her in conversation, despite her asking him not to do so. An officer located the man and advised him that he could face arrest if he does not leave the woman alone.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 22: Nery Diaz, 51, of Lexington Avenue, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation; after he was accused by a store employee on Maple Avenue of taking two beers without paying for them. An officer reported that he found Diaz around 1:45 p.m. sitting on the ground near the store and drinking one of the beers. Diaz was arrested after becoming “loud and profane” when questioned by the officer, police said. Around 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report from a resident who told them someone had broken into his Woodland Street home and had taken jewelry and a tablet computer. Police determined that the alleged thief had cut a window screen and forced open the window to gain entry. The case was turned over to detectives for further investigation. At 11:01 p.m., police were dispatched to Lexington Avenue to assist an extremely intoxicated man. The man was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center, police said.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, 10:20 a.m.: Police came to the rescue of an ailing man at a business on North Moger Avenue. The man, who appeared to be in his 50s, told officers that he was feeling weak and confused. He was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
  • Monday, Feb. 20, 9:39 a.m.: A store owner on South Moger Avenue called police after finding out that a lock on a basement door had been broken. After the woman and officers searched of the basement, they determined that nothing appeared to be missing.
