Police say on Sunday, they received a call from an employee at the diner reporting that he was assaulted by a former employee. A police officer was dispatched to the scene and conducted an investigation which revealed Aguilar Lopez as the defendant who punched the employee in the face and caused the employee to sustain a broken nose, police said.
Police said Aguilar Lopez voluntarily appeared at police headquarters on Tuesday, and was arrested in reference to the incident.
Following processing on the charge, Aguilar Lopez was arraigned by a judge who served Aguilar Lopez with a temporary order of protection and then released on his own recognizance.
Aguilar Lopez is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at 6 p.m.
