Mahopac Skateboarder Suffers Severe Head Injury In Crash With Car

CARMEL, N. Y. -- A 14-year-old Mahopac teen is fighting for his life after suffering a severe head injury in a crash with a car while he was riding a skateboard Monday evening, lohud.com reports.

Carmel police said Michael Bongiovanni was hit at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Kia Ora Boulevard and Brookside Road by a car driven by a Mahopac woman. He was flown in critical condition to Westchester Medical Center, lohud.com says.

No tickets have been issued. The teen was not wearing a helmet, lohud.com reports.
